Seo Youngkyo: "We have photographs and the locations have been identified"
"If the court does not act, the nation will be shaken"
Seo Youngkyo, a lawmaker from the Democratic Party of Korea, has announced plans for further action regarding allegations that Chief Judge Ji Guyon was entertained at an adult entertainment bar, stating, "I have photographs."
Former President Yoon Sukyeol is ordering the press to leave during the second criminal trial hearing on charges of leading an insurrection held on the 21st at the Seoul Central District Court in Seocho-dong, Seoul.
On May 16, during an appearance on YTN Radio's "News Fighting, Kim Youngsoo," Seo said, "We have photographs, and the locations related to the alleged entertainment have all been identified through the media," adding, "Since we have revealed this much, the court must take action."
She emphasized, "There should be a countermeasure meeting led by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court," and warned, "An inspection and disciplinary process must be initiated. If not, it should be considered that both the Court Administration Office and the Supreme Court are complicit."
Previously, Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Yongmin claimed at a plenary session of the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee, "I have received specific reports that Chief Judge Ji drank alcohol several times at a 'room salon' where the cost per person is about 1 million to 2 million won, and that not once did the judge pay."
In response, on May 15, the Seoul Central District Court stated, "The allegations are vague and their veracity has not been confirmed," and did not provide a detailed position.
Seo further asserted, "Judge Ji Guyon is aware of the specific details, and we can obtain information through Judge Ji Guyon," adding, "We have received reports that not only do we possess relevant materials, but investigative agencies are also likely to have those materials."
Regarding the release of the photographs, she stated, "Before we disclose them, Judge Ji Guyon should come forward and confess," and warned, "If the court is aware of this and still takes no action, the photographs we have been tipped off about will be shocking enough to shake the entire nation."
