May 21-25, Held at Ulsan Grand Park Rose Garden
Abundant Attractions, Entertainment, and Food Beyond the Rose Garden
The fragrance of three million roses fills the May sky of Ulsan.
Ulsan City and SK Innovation will host the '2025 Ulsan Grand Park Rose Festival' for five days, from May 21 to May 25, at the Rose Garden in Ulsan Grand Park.
Celebrating its 17th edition since its inception in 2006, this year's Rose Festival marks the first year of integrating the 2028 International Garden Expo and the Rose Festival. The event will be held as a distinguished garden culture festival befitting the status of a city hosting the International Garden Expo, and it will feature unique content that reflects Ulsan’s own character.
In particular, since the opening of the Rose Garden in 2006, many of the older, weakened rose trees have been replaced and supplemented with new, fragrant varieties and tree-form roses to create a more three-dimensional landscape. As a result, visitors will be welcomed by an even richer rose fragrance than in previous years.
Additionally, starting one week before the festival, the official festival website will provide daily real-time updates on the blooming status of the roses in the Rose Garden, allowing citizens to check the blooming period in advance and choose the optimal time to visit.
Beyond the Rose Garden, there will be an even greater variety of attractions, entertainment, and food for visitors to enjoy.
On the first day of the festival, May 21, a grand opening ceremony will be held on the main stage within the Rose Garden to mark the official start of the Rose Festival.
The opening ceremony will feature a parade, the lighting of a giant ABR 'Rose' sculpture, a fireworks show, a laser show, and performances by the Ulsan Philharmonic Orchestra and musical actors Kim Sohyun & Son Junho.
From May 22 to 25, top domestic singers will participate in the Rose Valley Concert, while local cultural and artistic performers will take the stage in the Love Music Concert, an open stage for songs of love. There will also be various magic shows and street performances (busking), as well as a variety of large and small guerrilla performances that are expected to further enhance the festival atmosphere.
Additional events will include a Children's Rose Garden, exhibition and experience booths, food trucks, an ecological travel center, and a children's amusement park (Kids Theme Park), offering a wide range of hands-on activities.
In particular, the 'Children's Rose Garden' at SK Square will be designed as a family-friendly rest area to help visitors cool off from the heat. There will also be fan meetings, photo zones, and interactive events featuring 'TiniPing,' a character popular among children.
With more than 160,000 visitors expected to attend the festival, free shuttle buses will operate on Saturday and Sunday to alleviate parking difficulties, running between the South Gate of Ulsan Grand Park, the East Gate, the Main Gate, and the Munsu Indoor Swimming Pool.
Safety and convenience facilities, including an emergency fire support center, medical support center, lost child center, lost and found center, and foreigner support center, will be fully provided so that visitors can enjoy the festival safely and comfortably.
Detailed program schedules for the Rose Festival can be found on the 'Ulsan Grand Park Rose Festival' website and the 'Ulsan Tourism Website.' For further inquiries, please contact the Haeuli Call Center.
A city official stated, "This year's Rose Festival will showcase a variety of refined garden culture content worthy of the host city of the 2028 Ulsan International Garden Expo," and added, "We have prepared a festival that will satisfy all five senses, allowing visitors to lose themselves in the fragrance of roses in the nation's largest rose forest. We hope many people will visit."
