Busan Junggu Mental Health Welfare Center signed an emergency psychological support agreement on May 14, 2025, with the Western Education Support Office Wee Center, local mental health welfare centers, youth counseling welfare centers, and eight other institutions and schools.
This center, which is currently operated by Dongmyeong University under commission, established the agreement to help stabilize the emotional well-being of students, faculty, and parents in the event of disasters or incidents at schools, thereby supporting the normalization of educational activities.
Each institution agreed to maintain a network of practitioners and to provide on-site counseling and treatment at schools in the event of an emergency.
Choi Seongjin, head of the Busan Junggu Mental Health Welfare Center, stated, "We will strive to promote the mental health of children and adolescents and provide psychological support in schools tailored to the characteristics of the local community." Lee Jaehan, superintendent of the Western Education Support Office, also said, "We will cooperate to stabilize schools and help members of the school community recover psychologically."
Busan Junggu Mental Health Welfare Center supports local residents and people with mental disorders, carrying out various mental health promotion projects such as suicide prevention.
