Hana Card's Saemaeul Geumgo PLCC Product 'MG+ Credit Card' Surpasses 100,000 Members

"Just Seven Months After Launch...
Tailored Products for Both Small Business Owners and VIPs"

Hana Card announced on May 16 that it has recruited 100,000 members for its Private Label Credit Card (PLCC) in just seven months after first launching the PLCC in partnership with the National Credit Union Federation of Korea (Saemaeul Geumgo) at the end of October last year, followed by the release of two additional card types.

Hana Card was selected as the PLCC business operator in a public competitive bidding for the Federation's PLCC project in June 2023. Currently, three types of PLCC card products are available at over 3,200 Saemaeul Geumgo branches nationwide.


Following the first product, the 'MG+ Primo' card, Hana Card launched the 'MG+ Blue Card' targeting SOHO (small office/home office) members who use Saemaeul Geumgo, and the 'MG+ Black Card,' a premium card for VIP customers.


The MG+ Primo Card offers a 0.5% statement discount at all domestic and overseas merchants regardless of usage, as well as 2-3 months of interest-free installment payments at all domestic merchants.


The MG+ Blue Card provides a 10% statement discount not only on daily spending categories but also on automatic payments for business-related services such as telecommunications, rentals, and security.


The MG+ Black Card, Saemaeul Geumgo's first premium product, is equipped with high-end services covering all aspects of lifestyle, including overseas travel, golf, and department stores.


For overseas merchants, golf (golf courses and driving ranges), and department stores (Lotte, Shinsegae, Hyundai, and Galleria), the card offers a 10% statement discount in each category, up to a monthly limit of 30,000 KRW.


Hana Card reported that it conducted various marketing activities targeting Saemaeul Geumgo employees and contributing members. The company encouraged employee participation in recruitment by offering opportunities such as overseas training programs to top-performing branches and staff in credit card recruitment.


For contributing members, Hana Card provided a 100% cashback on the annual fee (up to 20,000 KRW). Contributing members accounted for more than 80% of all PLCC cardholders.


A Hana Card representative stated, "We will continue to introduce products with more diverse benefits for Saemaeul Geumgo customers," adding, "We plan to further strengthen our strategic partnership by converting corporate cards of the Federation's affiliates and individual regional credit unions to Hana Card, thereby creating synergy across various businesses."
