Yeosu Mipyeong Comprehensive Social Welfare Center is receiving a positive response for operating its mobile welfare center, "Exciting Happy Day," which visits underdeveloped areas to serve local residents.
According to Mipyeong Comprehensive Social Welfare Center on May 16, the center visited Myodo Ondong and Dodok villages in Yeosu the previous day. These villages have limited access to welfare services due to transportation and mobility difficulties. The center provided enjoyable performances along with hairdressing services during the visit.
The mobile welfare center was well received by residents as it offered cultural performances and hairdressing services that had been requested by the community through a preliminary survey. In particular, the event began with an exciting Nanta performance, followed by performances from four invited singers, creating a lively and joyful atmosphere for the residents.
In the second part of the event, a singing class was held with the participation of residents, and volunteers provided hairdressing services for elderly people living alone who have mobility difficulties.
A 98-year-old participant expressed a bright smile, saying, "The welfare center came to visit us, entertained us, and even gave us haircuts. It feels just like a holiday. I am truly grateful."
Director Kim Jongwon stated, "The mobile welfare center project is a new welfare platform that directly visits underdeveloped areas with limited access to welfare centers for various reasons, providing welfare programs and social services. We are striving to realize social value together with residents and to offer services that bring hope and inspiration."
Director Kim added, "In addition to singing classes and mobile hairdressing services, we are also preparing unique events. If there are seniors in need, we will visit them anywhere."
Meanwhile, the "Exciting Happy Day" mobile welfare center operated by Mipyeong Comprehensive Social Welfare Center is held on the second and fourth Thursday of every month.
