The Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education announced that it held the 44th Teacher's Day ceremony in the main auditorium of its headquarters on May 15.


At the ceremony, Park Haeran, an educational researcher at the Daejeon Institute of Education and Science, received the Okjo Geunjeong Medal. Lee Jungjae, principal of Daejeon Yongjeon Elementary School; Kim Seonggwang, teacher at Daejeon Wonshinheung Middle School; and Lee Jaeha, principal of Jungil High School, received presidential commendations. In total, 236 individuals were awarded prizes and commendations.


Park Haeran was recognized for expanding opportunities for communication to enhance the practical application of education policies, establishing a cooperative system with the local community, and contributing to the promotion of data-driven policy research for Daejeon education.


Superintendent Seol Dongho expressed his gratitude, saying, "I would like to thank all teachers for their hard work and dedication, always thinking of the students even under difficult educational circumstances." He added, "We will continue to work harder to realize happy schools and open a new future for education in Daejeon."
