Discussion on Key Issues Such as the Status of Foreigners and Consumption by Single-Person Households
The Honam Regional Statistics Office held the "2025 Honam Regional Statistics Development Council" at the Narakium Gwangju Integrated Government Complex in Seo-gu, Gwangju, on the 15th. The council was attended by local governments from the Honam region, the Bank of Korea, and expert committee members from academia and research institutes.
On this day, statistical analysis cases addressing regional issues such as the status of foreigners in the Gwangju and Jeonnam areas and the impact of consumption expenditures by single-person households were presented.

Lee Chanyoung, professor of economics at Chonnam National University, shared an analysis on the status of foreigners in the region, while Ahn Jiyeon, manager at the Gwangju-Jeonnam branch of the Bank of Korea, presented findings on the relationship between single-person households and consumption expenditures. In addition, measures to strengthen statistical infrastructure to vitalize regional statistics were also discussed.
Jung Guhyun, head of the office, stated, "We will strive to ensure that the opinions discussed contribute to policy decisions and regional development."
