Promotion of 'Field-Oriented Policies' Based on TF Reports
The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education will begin implementing improvement measures in areas vulnerable to corruption, based on the results of its "Integrity Special Task Force (TF)," which was established with the goal of enhancing integrity and achieving zero corruption incidents.
According to the Office of Education on May 15, the Integrity Special TF, launched in February, analyzed the current status of five areas: school sports teams, after-school programs, field trips, construction, and contracts. Based on this analysis, the TF published the first and second policy reports.
The first report, released in March, included key measures such as: incorporating school sports team beneficiary contributions into the school accounting system; sending integrity-related text messages to after-school instructors and establishing a dedicated communication channel; formalizing the school's responsibility for external guide fees during overseas field trip preliminary visits; and standardizing document templates for each stage of the contracting process.
The second report, published earlier this month, presented more specific follow-up measures. These included: operating a dedicated clean reporting center for school sports teams; streamlining the recruitment process for after-school instructors; correcting errors in field trip task descriptions; and introducing a non-face-to-face document submission system for construction-related documents.
The Office of Education plans to thoroughly review the feasibility of these measures with relevant departments, and, after going through the policy-making process, apply them to actual educational settings. In addition, the Office will continuously monitor implementation and conduct follow-up management.
Kim Jae-gi, Director of Audit, stated, "Integrity is an important standard that reflects the level of organizational culture, going beyond mere numbers," and added, "We will continue to implement follow-up actions and inspections to ensure these measures bring about real change in educational settings."
