Jaeyoung Solutec Sees 24% YoY Sales Growth in Q1... "Higher Share of High-Performance OIS"

Jaeyoung Solutec announced on May 15 that its consolidated sales for the first quarter of this year reached 38.4 billion KRW, an increase of 24% compared to the same period last year. During the same period, operating profit and net loss were recorded at 1.4 billion KRW and 500 million KRW, respectively.

Strong sales of major clients' smartphones and the expansion of models equipped with optical image stabilization (OIS) drove the company's top-line growth. The market environment is also favorable, with increasing demand for high-performance smartphone cameras.

However, as the company began mass production of the industry's first ultra-thin OIS with a spring structure, one-off costs were incurred, leading to a decrease in profit. This was the result of a temporary increase in costs during the initial mass production phase.

The spring OIS is a core component applied to high-performance smartphone cameras, featuring improved precision and stability compared to the conventional ball type. With its high level of technological sophistication and product competitiveness, it is gaining attention as the next-generation OIS.

A company representative stated, "This is the result of strategic investments aimed at shifting toward a high value-added product structure," and added, "We will continue to stabilize the yield rate of the spring OIS and steadily increase the proportion of next-generation high value-added products."

The representative further emphasized, "Starting from the second quarter, we will focus on significantly improving profitability through enhanced production efficiency," and added, "We will also strive to expand actuator adoption across a variety of industries, including smartphones."
