Ubivelox announced on May 15 that its consolidated sales for the first quarter reached 174 billion KRW, a 41% increase compared to the same period last year.
The significant growth in Ubivelox's first-quarter sales was largely driven by the continued expansion of its overseas black box and environmental home appliance businesses. In overseas markets, awareness of safe driving devices is rapidly improving. Riding this trend, the company has secured its largest-ever supply contract through BMW Global, and the overseas black box business continues to perform well.
In February, Ubivelox launched a new robot vacuum cleaner, the Roborock S9. With the launch, the company temporarily intensified its marketing efforts across mass media and new media to widen the market share gap with competitors, resulting in significantly higher sales compared to the previous year.
Kang Jungkyu, Executive Director overseeing the Corporate Strategy Division, stated, "Due to recent social security issues related to USIM, the supply volume of USIM and IoT security and authentication chips has increased significantly compared to last year." He added, "We have also begun full-scale supply of metal cards, a high value-added product, since March." Kang continued, "Considering the new black box supply contracts scheduled for the second half of the year, including with Mercedes-Benz Korea, as well as the additional launch of robot vacuum cleaners within this year, we expect our performance to continue growing compared to the first quarter."
Earlier this year, Ubivelox acquired Iroom Design Skin, a manufacturer and distributor of tech accessory products, thereby entering the tech accessories industry and continuously striving to strengthen its capabilities through business synergy.
