On the 15th, the Seoul Central District Court released a statement saying, "The allegations raised are not only vague, but no concrete evidence has been presented, and therefore the truth of the allegations has not been confirmed. Accordingly, the Central District Court has nothing to comment on regarding this matter."
Previously, on the 14th, Kim Yongmin, a lawmaker from the Democratic Party of Korea, claimed during a full session of the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee, "I have received specific reports that Judge Ji drank on several occasions at a 'room salon,' where the cost per person ranges from 1 million to 2 million won, and that the judge never paid for any of these occasions."
Kim Gipyo, another Democratic Party lawmaker, also released a photo of the adult entertainment establishment at the center of the allegations, stating, "The person who accompanied Judge Ji is said to be someone related to his official duties. This could be a very serious issue." However, the Democratic Party later issued a correction to the press, clarifying, "We are currently verifying whether the informant was actually part of Judge Ji Guyeon's group."
No Jongmyeon, spokesperson for the Democratic Party's election committee, stated, "Judge Ji should be immediately removed from the rebellion trial and an inspection should be conducted. If the judiciary hesitates, we will take further action, including releasing the photos."
