The KOSPI is showing a slight downward trend around the 2,630 level due to net selling by institutional investors.
As of 10:05 a.m. on May 15, the KOSPI stood at 2,639.10, down 1.47 points (0.06%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, individuals and foreign investors recorded net purchases of 97 billion won and 58.4 billion won, respectively. In contrast, institutional investors recorded net sales of 166.8 billion won.
By sector, construction was down 1.71%, while paper·wood, real estate, pharmaceuticals, and metals were also showing slight declines. On the other hand, transport·storage jumped 2.55%, and electricity·gas rose 1.64%. Entertainment·culture and securities also posted slight gains.
Among large-cap stocks, Samsung Electronics was trading at 57,900 won, up 500 won (0.87%). LG Energy Solution was also up 1.91%. In contrast, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries was down 1.92%.
The KOSDAQ stood at 735.97, down 3.08 points (0.42%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, individuals and institutions recorded net purchases of 123.1 billion won and 2.2 billion won, respectively. In contrast, foreign investors recorded net sales of 112.9 billion won.
By sector, non-metallics, construction, metals, textiles·apparel, and machinery·equipment were down more than 1%. On the other hand, entertainment·culture, food·beverage·tobacco, and transport·storage posted slight gains.
Among large-cap stocks, Alteogen was trading at 326,500 won, down 8,500 won (2.54%) from the previous trading day. Rainbow Robotics was down 3.23%, while SM and Samchundang Pharm were down 2.45% and 1.40%, respectively. In contrast, Recochem Bio was up 2.44%, and Hugel was also up 1.73%.
