"Yoon's Attorney Also Joins Ruling Party's Election Committee... True Face of Insurrection Cannot Be Hidden"
Yoon Hojoong, Chief Director of the Central Election Committee of the Democratic Party of Korea, addressed Kim Moonsoo, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, and the People Power Party itself, stating, "Instead of trying to attract attention with talk of Yoon Sukyeol leaving or being expelled from the party?when you don't even mean it?I hope you start by apologizing for the insurrection."
At a meeting of the Election Committee's chief directors held at the Democratic Party headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, on the 15th, Chief Director Yoon said, "Kim, who was able to serve as a minister and even become a presidential candidate thanks to Yoon Sukyeol, would never try to oust Yoon Sukyeol," delivering his remarks in this way.
He criticized former President Yoon Sukyeol, saying, "There were reports that Yoon Sukyeol would leave the People Power Party, but as expected, it was just media play. Yoon Sukyeol is essentially passing the responsibility to Kim Moonsoo by saying he will follow whatever the candidate decides, displaying a cowardly and disgraceful attitude."
Chief Director Yoon further pointed out, "Now, even Yoon Sukyeol's friend and legal representative, lawyer Seok Donghyun, is said to be joining Kim's election committee. He was the No. 2 proportional representative candidate for the Liberty Unification Party in the last general election." He emphasized, "No matter how much they disguise themselves, the true face of the far-right, insurrectionist vested interests cannot be hidden."
He also criticized, "Scott Besant, the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, said the day before yesterday that Korea is in a period of government transition but has good proposals before the election heats up. We can no longer entrust state affairs to shameless people who, in their attempt to win the election, unhesitatingly commit acts of treason by holding the national interest hostage."
Additionally, Chief Director Yoon strongly asserted that the right person to revive the collapsed Korean economy is candidate Lee Jaemyung. He said, "The Korea Development Institute (KDI) has forecast our economic growth rate at just 0.8%, half the projection from only three months ago. The youth employment rate is at 41.3%, the lowest in four years."
He continued, "The person who was responsible for employment issues until recently was Kim, who served as Minister of Employment and Labor. Kim and the People Power Party are joint culprits in the economic disaster of the Yoon Sukyeol administration." He emphasized, "Instead of making rosy promises like Yoon Sukyeol, who has already failed, what is needed first is a sincere apology to the people. The prepared candidate, Lee, is on a completely different level from the hasty candidate, Kim."
