Provided by Siheung City

The "Electric Assistive Device Liability Insurance" is a system that compensates victims on behalf of the user if, due to the user's negligence while operating an electric assistive device, another person is injured or property is damaged. The city has been enrolled in this liability insurance since 2023.

This insurance provides coverage of up to 20 million won for liability arising when registered persons with disabilities or seniors aged 65 or older cause damage to third parties while operating electric assistive devices. When filing a claim, the policyholder is responsible for a deductible of 50,000 won. However, injuries sustained by the user of the electric assistive device are not covered.

The insurance automatically covers registered persons with disabilities and seniors aged 65 or older residing in Siheung City who use electric assistive devices, without requiring any separate application process. The coverage period runs from April 20 of this year to April 19 of next year. Detailed information about the insurance can be found on "WheelchairKorea.com."

Yoo Sunghee, head of the Welfare for the Disabled Division of Siheung City, stated, "We will continue to implement a variety of policies to ensure that all citizens, including socially vulnerable groups, can enjoy safe and happy lives."
