Gokseong County in South Jeolla Province announced on May 14 that the 15th Gokseong World Rose Festival will be held for 11 days from May 16 to May 25 at Gokseong Seomjingang Train Village. This year's rose festival will be held under the theme "A Day Colored by Roses, All Day Rose," which means being fully immersed in the charm of roses that are beautiful both day and night.

The opening ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. on May 16 with a parade created together with local residents. Five local art teams selected through a public contest, along with the Life Improvement Association, will join professional performance groups to hold the All Day Rose Parade at the Train Village.

Notably, this year's rose festival opening performance will feature Harmonize, Korea's first show choir group. Harmonize plans to highlight the splendor and elegance of roses through a variety of performances.

This year, the county is expanding nighttime attractions such as the rose park's nightscape and busking performances, making every effort to allow visitors to enjoy the fragrance of roses not only during the day but also at night.

Additionally, the festival will introduce the Gokseong Rose Festival character "Rozy Friends," created through a Korea Tourism Organization contest, at a pop-up store, drawing attention. In connection with this, the "Rozyya Eodinni" event, where visitors search for hidden Rozy Friends in the rose park, will offer free photo booth opportunities.

The Gokseong World Rose Festival, a source of pride for local residents, is demonstrated by their participation in performances. This year, about 800 people from 45 teams will showcase their skills in the "Gokseong Pungnyu" segment. Local organizations such as the Saemaeul Association, Life Improvement Association, Junior Chamber, Livestock Cooperative, and Agricultural Cooperative will also lead the festival by participating in the opening parade, cleaning the festival grounds, and operating various promotional booths.

To ensure a safe festival, the county has conducted prior consultations with the Gokseong Police Station and Gokseong Fire Station, and has completed the County Safety Management Review Board process. For crowd management, the county has subscribed to a real-time crowd statistics management system to receive and manage data in real time, and has also completed registration for festival safety insurance that includes food liability coverage.

A county festival official stated, "Gokseong Seomjingang Train Village is the only place in Korea where you can see 1,004 varieties of roses from around the world at a glance, along with a rose park, ecology center, Dreamland, and a steam locomotive. We have done our best to ensure that the rose festival is beautiful both day and night." The official added, "During the festival period, Gokseong Seomjingang Train Village is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. If you want to see the scent and dew-covered roses, it is best to visit at the opening time of 8 a.m., and for those who want to enjoy the rose park at a leisurely pace, visiting after 4 p.m. is recommended."

Meanwhile, Gokseong Seomjingang Train Village currently attracts more than 3,000 visitors even on weekdays, and the rose blooming rate can be checked on the website.
