Gwangju City announced on May 14 that it will operate the 'Gwangju Youth Talk Reporter' program, a youth policy supporter group, to promote Gwangju's youth policies in a way that resonates with young people. The city is currently recruiting participants until May 21.

The 'Youth Talk Reporter' group is responsible for covering Gwangju City's youth policies from the perspective of young people and creating a variety of promotional content?including videos, photos, and articles?to communicate these policies to their peers in an easy and relatable manner.

The recruitment is open to young people in Gwangju with content creation skills. A total of 10 participants will be selected: 8 for blogging (writing and photography) and 2 for video (YouTube). Those interested can inquire at the Gwangju Youth Center or apply online through the Gwangju Youth Integrated Platform. The selected Youth Talk Reporters will participate in an inaugural ceremony and practical training at the end of May, and then be active for about six months until November.

Youth Talk Reporters will engage in activities such as: creating youth policy content; visiting youth policy implementation agencies and promoting their programs; covering and promoting youth-related events; monitoring the city's and youth center's social networking services (SNS); and gathering and suggesting feedback to improve youth activities.

All participants will receive business cards and an activity allowance (60,000 KRW for bloggers, 130,000 KRW for video creators), as well as practical training to enhance their understanding of policies. Those who complete their activities faithfully will be awarded a certificate of completion.

Kwon Yoonsook, Director of Youth Policy, stated, "Gwangju City continues to make various efforts to deliver youth policies in a more approachable and effective way," adding, "We hope that the Youth Talk Reporter group, as youth supporters, will serve as an important bridge between young people and policy."

Meanwhile, the 'Gwangju Youth Talk Reporter' program, which serves as a youth policy supporter group, was proposed by the 9th Gwangju City Youth Committee to expand youth participation in policy and strengthen promotion. It was selected as an outstanding proposal by the committee.
