Cheongyang County to Host Busking Performances at Major Tourist Sites, Aiming to Boost Stay-Type Tourism

Cheongyang County in South Chungcheong Province is launching busking performances infused with emotional resonance at local tourist attractions to mark the "Year of Tourism City," aiming to boost stay-type tourism in the region.

On May 14, Cheongyang County announced that it will hold a "Tourist Site Busking" event at Chilgapsan Natural Recreation Forest on May 17, featuring performance teams comprised of local cultural artists.

The busking performances will span a variety of genres, from 1970s and 1980s music to pop songs, ensuring enjoyment for audiences of all ages and satisfying all five senses.

The performances will continue at several locations, including Chilgapsan Natural Recreation Forest, Cheonjangho Suspension Bridge (on May 24), and Chilgapsan Auto Camping Site (on June 7 and June 21 at 7 p.m.). For those unable to attend in person, the events will be broadcast live through online channels such as YouTube.

The county plans to use these performances to integrate diverse cultural content into tourist attractions, expand opportunities for local cultural artists, and lay the groundwork for revitalizing the local economy and establishing a foundation for stay-type tourism.

A county official stated, "Last year's busking event at Cheonjangho received a great response, so this year we have expanded the number of venues to offer even richer attractions. We hope that visitors to Cheongyang will experience the moving harmony of nature and culture, and fully appreciate the charm of Cheongyang with all their senses."
