Haetteumi Ssireum Team Shines at the Tournament
Noh Beomsu, a member of the Haetteumi Ssireum Team of Ulju County Office, claimed the Geumgang Champion title at the "Withus Pharmaceutical 2025 Folk Ssireum Yuseong Oncheon Jangsa Ssireum Tournament," lifting his 23rd Hwangso Trophy overall.

On May 13, at the Geumgang Champion (under 90kg) finals held at the National Hanbat University Gymnasium in Daejeon, Noh Beomsu faced his teammate Jung Jongjin, securing victory with a 2-1 record. With this win, Noh achieved his fourth Geumgang Champion title and his nineteenth Taebaek Champion title, bringing his personal total to 23 championship titles.
In this tournament, Noh Beomsu advanced to the finals with overwhelming momentum, defeating Lee Jungmin (Gwangju City Hall) 2-0 in the quarterfinals and Choi Jeongman (Yeongam County Folk Ssireum Team) 2-0 in the semifinals. In the championship match, he sealed his victory by consecutively defeating Jung Jongjin using the Japchaegi and Milleochigi techniques.
Notably, the Haetteumi Ssireum Team of Ulju County Office demonstrated strong team competitiveness in this tournament, with Kim Deokil winning the Sobaek Champion title, Noh Beomsu taking first place in the Geumgang Champion event, and Jung Jongjin finishing second.
An official from Ulju County stated, "The outstanding performance of the Haetteumi Ssireum Team, including Noh Beomsu, has once again reaffirmed the status of Ulsan's ssireum," adding, "We will continue to provide steady support and attention so that the team can perform on even bigger stages."
The "Withus Pharmaceutical 2025 Folk Ssireum Yuseong Oncheon Jangsa Ssireum Tournament" is a traditional ssireum competition hosted by the Korea Ssireum Association and co-organized by Yuseong District and the Korea Ssireum Federation, where the nation's top champions competed in spectacular matches.
