Participation of Related Organizations Including Gwangsan-gu Office and Model Drivers Association
Educational Programs Also Conducted for Truck Drivers and Transportation Workers
The Gwangju Police Agency and the Gwangju Autonomous Police Committee announced on May 14 that they recently conducted a joint traffic safety campaign in front of Sinchang Elementary School in Gwangsan-gu to promote the habitual use of seat belts in all seats.
The campaign was joined by related organizations and groups, including the Gwangsan-gu Office, the Model Drivers Association, and the Green Mothers Association. The campaign promoted the importance of wearing seat belts in all seats and encouraged practical action, targeting elementary school students and parents during school commute hours.
Main promotional slogans included "Seat belt first when you get in the car" and "Seat belts are essential even at low speeds." The educational efforts focused particularly on encouraging children to develop the habit of wearing seat belts, highlighting the dangers of not wearing seat belts in the back seat, and addressing inappropriate seat belt use by commercial vehicle drivers.
Following this campaign, the Gwangju Police Agency plans to strengthen its seat belt promotion efforts targeting truck drivers and transportation workers. A police official stated, "We will continue field-centered campaigns to establish a mature traffic safety culture."
