Selection Criteria Eased to Include Households with Two or More Children
Ulsan City is easing the selection criteria and other conditions for the 'Interfloor Noise Reduction Mat Support Project for Multi-Family Housing,' which has been implemented since March.

Originally, this project provided support for 70% of the installation cost of interfloor noise reduction mats per household, up to a maximum of 700,000 won. The selection of recipients was based on a scoring system that prioritized households with three or more children, taking into account the number and age of children.
To expand the beneficiary scope and expedite the process, the city has changed the application and selection method this month to a first-come, first-served basis for households with two or more children.
Additionally, to reduce the burden on applicants, the city has removed the requirements to complete interfloor noise prevention education on how to be considerate of downstairs neighbors, as well as the condition that 5-10% of supported households be selected as samples for noise measurement in the downstairs units.
Ulsan City is also diversifying its publicity efforts to ensure that no one is left out of the information loop. These efforts include distributing promotional materials to multi-family housing complexes and local administrative welfare centers, posting on local online communities, utilizing district and county social media networks, and cooperating with mat installation companies.
Details on how to apply and information about subsequent procedures can be found in the announcements posted on the websites of each district and county.
A city official stated, "Since switching to a first-come, first-served method and easing the selection criteria, we have seen an increase in inquiries. Residents who wish to participate should apply quickly before the budget runs out," adding, "We ask for the active interest of all citizens."
