RaonSecure's TouchEn OnePass Biometric Authentication Service in Japan Surpasses 7 Million MAU

RaonSecure's TouchEn OnePass Biometric Authentication Service in Japan Surpasses 7 Million MAU

RaonSecure is demonstrating its growth potential in the global authentication market, with the monthly active users (MAU) of its successfully established biometric authentication service in Japan surpassing 7 million.

IT security and authentication platform company RaonSecure (co-CEOs Lee Soonhyung and Lee Jeonga) announced that the MAU of its Japan-focused biometric authentication service, TouchEn OnePass, exceeded 7 million as of the end of last month. This figure represents an increase of more than 1 million users in just four months since the end of last year. Given the current growth rate, the company expects to reach 10 million MAU within this year.

TouchEn OnePass is a cloud-based biometric authentication service that uses biometric information such as fingerprints and facial recognition for user authentication, providing both high security and convenience. RaonSecure supplies this service to Japanese financial institutions, fintech companies, and educational institutions, thereby establishing a stable revenue base.

In particular, last year, RaonSecure signed a supply contract for OnePass worth approximately 3.5 billion KRW with Sumishin SBI Net Bank, Japan's largest internet bank, and its subsidiary, NeoBank Technologies, thereby actively expanding its market share in Japan.

Recently, Japan experienced online securities account hacking damages amounting to approximately 2.7 trillion JPY, which has led to a sharp increase in demand for security authentication technologies. As a result, the Financial Services Agency of Japan and major securities firms are actively considering the introduction of biometric and multi-factor authentication. RaonSecure expects that these changes in the market environment will serve as a strong momentum for the expansion of its cloud-based biometric authentication services.

In addition to its biometric authentication service, RaonSecure is also expanding its customer base by conducting proof-of-concept (PoC) projects for its blockchain-based integrated identity and credential authentication platform, OmniOne Digital ID, in collaboration with major Japanese corporations and public institutions.

Lee Soonhyung, CEO of RaonSecure, stated, "Surpassing 7 million MAU is significant not only as a demonstration of our technological competitiveness, but also as proof that our localization strategy in overseas authentication markets is yielding tangible results. Based on our achievements in Japan, we plan to expand into Asian and North American markets and become a global leader in the digital authentication sector."

Meanwhile, RaonSecure was the first in the world to obtain FIDO global certification and is also a board member of the FIDO Alliance. The company was the first in the Korean financial sector to introduce biometric information-based authentication technology and has contributed to the proliferation of biometric authentication technology. RaonSecure has also enhanced the safety of its blockchain-based DID platform-powered mobile ID by integrating its proprietary biometric authentication technology.
