This year's festival will be organized as a historical and cultural event that everyone can enjoy, including both citizens and tourists, with performances and experience-based programs centered on the history and culture of King Taejo Yi Seonggye, the founder of the Joseon Dynasty.

There are three main recruitment categories: ▲ casting for major roles in the royal procession, ▲ the 'Joseon Hipjaengi' youth dance competition, and ▲ supporters called 'Hoeami.' Anyone, regardless of age or gender, can participate and become a main character of the festival.

The signature program, casting for major roles in the royal procession, is the highlight event on the first day of the festival. It is a large-scale performance that reenacts the royal procession of King Taejo Yi Seonggye. Citizen actors will portray a variety of roles, including King Taejo Yi Seonggye himself, royal guards, officials, and commoners, creating a majestic scene reminiscent of an actual Joseon Dynasty procession.

The 'Joseon Hipjaengi' youth dance competition, which captures the passion of young people, is a creative performance that combines elements of traditional culture with modern dance, encouraging participation and interest from the younger generation. The energetic and innovative performances by the youth are highly anticipated.

Additionally, the festival is recruiting supporters called 'Hoeami,' who will vividly cover the event and promote Yangju City through social media and other channels. The supporters will play a role in making the festival more citizen-friendly by assisting with the event and producing promotional content.

An official from Yangju City stated, "Through this historical and cultural festival created and participated in by citizens themselves, we aim to widely promote the historical value of Yangju Hoeamsaji," adding, "We look forward to the active interest and participation of many citizens."

Applications for festival participation and detailed program information can be found on the official website and SNS channels.

Meanwhile, the Yangju Hoeamsaji Royal Festival has established itself as a leading historical and cultural festival in northern Gyeonggi Province. This year, it is introducing a new cultural festival model called 'runcation' (learn+vacation), offering a variety of content that encompasses historical experiences, citizen participation, and relaxation for visitors.
