Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association (Chairman Song Pilho) announced on May 13 that the In-House Counsel Forum (IHCF, Chairman Jung Wonyoung), a non-profit corporation, donated 12,460,000 KRW to help victims affected by the large-scale wildfire that occurred in March.
This donation was raised through a fundraising campaign that took place from April 17 to April 24, with voluntary participation from IHCF members. IHCF is an organization comprising more than 2,400 in-house lawyers working in various fields such as corporations, public institutions, and academia, both domestically and internationally. The group has consistently engaged in social contribution activities that combine legal expertise with public interest initiatives. The recent fundraising effort was also made more meaningful by the voluntary participation of members seeking to help neighbors who lost their homes due to the wildfire.
Jung Wonyoung, Chairman of IHCF, stated, "We started this fundraising campaign with the hope that we could offer at least some support to those who suffered losses from the unexpected wildfire. We sincerely hope that the affected residents can return to their daily lives as soon as possible. IHCF will continue to fulfill its social responsibilities and promote sharing in the future."
Shin Hoon, Secretary General of Hope Bridge, expressed his gratitude, saying, "We deeply appreciate the warm solidarity shown by the lawyers. Hope Bridge will do its utmost to help our neighbors recover their daily lives as quickly as possible."
IHCF stated that this donation serves as an opportunity to reaffirm the legal community's social responsibility, and that it plans to continue carrying out various social contribution activities to support disaster relief and promote the public good both domestically and internationally.
