On May 9, the Korea Transportation Safety Authority held the '2025 Aviation Safety and Security Supporters Inauguration Ceremony' at the National Aviation Museum to promote a culture of aviation safety and security. Twenty students and graduates from aviation-related departments at eight universities in Korea, including Silla University, attended the event.
Joo Junghoon, Choi Minjeong, and Choi Jeongha from Silla University's Department of Air Traffic Logistics, who were selected as supporters, will participate in nationwide promotional activities until November. They will identify risks of aircraft accidents and threats related to terrorism and security, and produce various content such as card news, videos, and reels to raise public awareness of the importance of the voluntary aviation safety and security reporting system.
The Korea Transportation Safety Authority plans to operate field trip programs for the 20 selected supporters, including visits to air traffic control facilities and flight operation control centers. These programs are expected to greatly enhance their ability to identify risk factors based on real-world experience in air traffic control and flight operation management.
Joo Junghoon, Choi Minjeong, and Choi Jeongha from Silla University's Department of Air Traffic Logistics, who were selected as supporters, expressed their gratitude, saying, "We are very honored to have been selected as supporters. We will do our best during the activity period, learn as much as we can through this opportunity, and strive to become individuals who can contribute to aviation safety and security."
