National Unification Education Institute Fully Opens for the First Time on May 19... "Actual Berlin Wall on Display"

The 13th Unification Education Week to Be Held from May 19 to 25

The Ministry of Unification and the Ministry of Education will hold the 13th Unification Education Week from May 19 to May 25. On May 19, the opening day, the lawn garden at the National Unification Education Institute in Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, will be fully opened to the public for the first time, allowing ordinary citizens to view an actual segment of the Berlin Wall.

According to the Ministry of Unification on May 13, this year's event, held under the theme "Light of Liberation, Illuminating the Path to Unification," is open to everyone regardless of age or gender without prior registration. In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of Liberation, special items such as "Unification Macarons" and "Unification Bread" will be offered, and six North Korean defector chefs will prepare North Korean dishes on the spot for visitors to taste.

Additionally, targeting the 2030 generation, popup booths will be operated near Sinchon and Hongdae. On May 21, the Unification Education Research Center will host an academic conference under the theme "Changes in the International Order and Global Unification Education."

Minister of Unification Kim Youngho stated, "Through Unification Education Week, I hope that all citizens, including future generations, will reflect once more on unification and liberation and take greater interest in unification education."
