49 Strategic Tasks Presented at Linked Project Report Session
Nonsan City in South Chungcheong Province has begun full-scale preparations for the successful hosting of the 2027 Nonsan World Strawberry Industry Expo by detailing its implementation strategies.
The city announced on May 13 that it had held an expanded executive meeting and a report session on discovering linked projects for the 2027 Nonsan World Strawberry Industry Expo in the city hall conference room on May 12, where strategic tasks for the successful operation of the expo were shared.
During the report session, a total of 49 strategic tasks were presented across four key areas: event support, infrastructure development, exhibition production, and tourism and cultural content.
In particular, the city plans to accelerate the expansion of foundational infrastructure, including securing and improving the site around Nonsan Citizen Family Park, which will serve as the main venue for the expo, constructing public parking lots for smooth visitor access, and establishing smart transportation services.
Additionally, to match the status of the world's first international event focused on "strawberries," the city intends to develop and exhibit new strawberry varieties, and enhance the global competitiveness of Nonsan strawberries by utilizing the smart farm export complex and the integrated agricultural processing industry base.
Mayor Baek Seonghyeon stated, "The Nonsan World Strawberry Industry Expo will be a historic turning point that goes beyond a simple festival to achieve the globalization of Nonsan strawberries," and urged, "Please concentrate all administrative efforts so that the various ideas presented today can be translated into concrete action plans."
Meanwhile, the 2027 Nonsan World Strawberry Industry Expo, under the theme "K-Berry, Smart Agriculture! Healthy Future!" is scheduled to be held for 24 days from February 26 to March 21, 2027, at Nonsan Citizen Family Park, the Citizen Sports Complex, and the Strawberry Scent Rural Theme Park.
