[Market Focus] Eugene Robot Hits Record Highs on News of Outside Director Joining Lee Jaemyung's Campaign

Eugene Robot has shown strong performance for two consecutive days. The news that an outside director of Eugene Robot has joined the presidential campaign of Lee Jaemyung, the candidate from the Democratic Party of Korea, appears to have stimulated investor sentiment.

As of 9:07 a.m. on May 13, Eugene Robot was trading at 11,950 won, up 24.09% (2,320 won) from the previous day, marking a new 52-week high. This follows a limit-up the previous day, making it two consecutive days of strong gains.

According to industry sources, Jang Dongui, the planning director of the Korean Artificial Intelligence Association and an outside director of Eugene Robot, was appointed on May 10 as the No. 2 Special Advisor for Future Technology in the General Election Countermeasures Committee of candidate Lee Jaemyung. Jang Dongui, the newly appointed advisor, is a professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at KAIST and reportedly joined Eugene Robot as an outside director in March 2021.
