In the men's weekly golf world rankings announced on May 12 (local time), he earned 0.2035 points and made a significant leap of 189 spots from 762nd place last week. He accumulated these points by winning the KPGA Classic (total prize money: 700 million won), the only modified Stableford format tournament on the Korea Professional Golf Association (KPGA) Tour, which concluded the previous day at the Northwest Course (par 71) of Cypress Golf & Resort in Seogwipo, Jeju. Bae Yongjun claimed his first KPGA Tour victory at the Honors K·Sollago CC Hanjang Sang Invitational in July 2022, also played in the modified Stableford format, earning him the Rookie of the Year title that season. In this tournament, he ended a nearly three-year title drought and secured his second career win.

Scottie Scheffler (United States), Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland), and Xander Schauffele (United States) maintained their positions in the top three. Jeff Straka (Austria), winner of the Truist Championship, a signature event on the PGA Tour, jumped eight spots to rank ninth. Among Korean players, Im Sungjae is 18th, An Byeonghun is 39th, Kim Joo-hyung is 41st, and Kim Siwoo is 66th. Ryan Fox (New Zealand), champion of the PGA Tour's OneFlight Myrtle Beach Classic, moved up from 119th to 71st.
