On May 12, Nam Sejin, the judge in charge of warrants at the Seoul Central District Court, dismissed all arrest warrants for four individuals, including a person identified as Ryu, who were charged with violating the Act on the Punishment of Violent Acts (joint trespassing of residence).
Judge Nam stated, "Given the location of the intrusion and the premeditated nature of the crime, the severity of the offense is not minor. It is also recognized that, despite having similar prior offenses, they have committed another crime."
However, he explained the reason for dismissal by saying, "Considering the circumstances of the intrusion, the extent of the damage, their fixed residences and employment, family relationships, and their attitude during questioning, the risk of flight is low. Most of the evidence related to the crime has already been secured, so the likelihood of evidence destruction is also low. Therefore, it is difficult to acknowledge the necessity and validity of detention."
On May 9, four members of Daejinyeon were charged with attempting to enter the Supreme Court building while chanting slogans such as "Cho Heedai, resign." They were stopped by building security at the entrance and were arrested on the spot by police.
The Seocho Police Station in Seoul requested arrest warrants for them on May 11.
