Inspection of Vehicle Interior Structure and Safety Equipment Operation

This inspection was organized to prevent safety accidents involving children's school buses. The inspection was particularly focused on main school routes in areas such as Muan-eup and Samhyang-eup, and was conducted during the afternoon dismissal period. Police traffic officers, officials from the Muan County Office, and representatives from the Korea Transportation Safety Authority participated on-site, thoroughly checking the internal structure of the vehicles and the operation of safety equipment.
The inspection items included: whether the school bus was properly registered, whether the disembarkation confirmation device was functioning properly, whether external warning lights and rearview cameras were installed, whether child protection signs were attached, and whether the driver and accompanying personnel were properly qualified. In particular, on-site corrective actions were required for violations such as malfunctioning disembarkation confirmation devices or illegal structural modifications, and some cases will be subject to administrative measures as well.
Chief Jeong Seongil stated, "As safety accidents related to children's school buses have been occurring nationwide, it is more important than ever to prevent accidents through preemptive inspections," adding, "We will continue regular inspections to create an environment where all children in the jurisdiction can commute to and from school safely and with peace of mind."
