Sharing Best Practices in Play, Character, and Connection-Based Classes
Enhancing Teacher Professionalism Expected
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) will operate the '2025 School Year All Together Class Sharing' program for kindergarten teachers and childcare staff from May 13 to May 28.
This class-sharing initiative has been organized to support the stable implementation of a child- and play-centered curriculum, enhance teachers' instructional expertise, and foster a collaborative learning culture. In particular, by sharing a variety of exemplary class cases, the program aims to provide teachers with meaningful opportunities for professional learning.
The program is structured around three key themes: ▲ 'Nolda' (Play), ▲ 'Pumda' (Embrace), and ▲ 'Itda' (Connect). 'Nolda' will introduce play-centered class examples that cultivate initiative and creativity; 'Pumda' will present character education cases focused on emotional expression and communication; and 'Itda' will showcase examples of future-oriented, digital-based classes that connect kindergartens and elementary schools.
The instructors will include teachers who received awards at the 2024 Class Innovation Case Study Competition, as well as outstanding educators from other cities and provinces, who will share their practical experiences and expertise from the field.
Superintendent Kim Seokjun stated, "I hope that by sharing excellent class examples, teachers will grow together and child-centered education will become more widespread," adding, "We will spare no effort in supporting innovation in early childhood education and improvements in classroom instruction."
Since last year, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education has been implementing a variety of policies to improve the quality of kindergarten curricula, including play-centered classes, customized training, and on-site consulting.
