"Leading the Practice of Sustainable Management"
Gwangju Urban Corporation (President Kim Seungnam) announced on the 12th that it has successfully passed the 2025 post-management audit for the Environmental Management System (ISO14001) and the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (ISO45001), receiving a 'compliant' rating for both certifications.
This post-management audit was conducted regularly in accordance with International Organization for Standardization (ISO) regulations, focusing on the appropriateness and effectiveness of the operation of the environmental and occupational health and safety management systems, as well as compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
The corporation was the first development corporation in the country to obtain ISO45001 certification in 2019 and ISO14001 certification in 2020. Since then, it has maintained these certifications every year through continuous system improvements and the active participation of all executives and employees.
In this year's audit, the corporation received an 'excellent' evaluation particularly for its improvement of the environmental risk and planning management system, its compliance activities with laws such as the Industrial Safety and Health Act and the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, and its implementation of workplace risk assessments and improvements.
President Kim Seungnam stated, "The results of this audit are due to the unified efforts of all executives and employees for environmental protection and safety management," and added, "We will continue to work even harder to realize sustainable ESG management and ensure the safety of our citizens."
