The 10th Yangsan Youth Council Holds Meeting with City Council Members

The 10th Yangsan Youth Council legislative training session, organized by Yangsan City and the Yangsan Youth Center and sponsored by the Yangsan City Council, was held at the Yangsan City Council on May 10.

The event was attended by 17 youth council members, who toured the Yangsan City Council and learned about the roles and functions of the council. Afterwards, a meeting was held with city council members, during which the youth council members listened to the city council members discuss their roles and attitudes. The youth council members also had the opportunity to share their questions and opinions about council activities that they had been curious about.

The meeting with the city council members was attended by Kwak Jongpo, Chairperson of the Yangsan City Council, Choi Sunho, Vice Chairperson, Jung Sunghoon, Chairperson of the Special Ethics Committee, as well as council members Shin Jaehyang, Kim Jiwon, and Song Eunyeong. They sincerely answered the diverse questions from the youth council members and expressed their support for the youth council members' mock legislative activities.

Jung Dongju, Chairperson of the Youth Council, stated, "It was very meaningful that the city council members answered the questions we prepared with such enthusiasm and that we could think together about the development of Yangsan. I felt reassured to see our youth council members deeply contemplating and asking questions about city administration, and I am very much looking forward to the activities we will carry out together during the remainder of our term."

Kwak Jongpo, Chairperson of the Yangsan City Council, expressed strong support for the youth, saying, "I believe that our shared dream is to make Yangsan a place where everyone, from children to the elderly, can live well. I will work harder to represent your interests and, by cooperating with you, will help guide Yangsan City in the right direction."

The Youth Council is a participatory organization hosted by Yangsan City, sponsored by the Yangsan City Council, and organized by the Yangsan Youth Center. It consists of 19 youth council members who were elected through direct voting by local youth.

On May 24, they plan to promote the Youth Council at the 19th Yangsan National Youth One-Heart Festival, an event for Youth Month. They will also conduct workshops, plenary sessions, and engage in legislative activities in various fields in Yangsan City.
