"Yorihada Gimmatna" and Gondre Vegetable Pot Rice Win Gold Medals
L.POINT Rewards on Award-Winning Products Until June 4
Lotte Mart announced on May 12 that its private brands (PB) "Oneuljoeun" and "Yorihada" have won gold medals at the prestigious international quality assessment event, the 2025 Monde Selection.
Monde Selection is an international food quality evaluation and certification organization founded in 1961 in Brussels, Belgium. Its panel consists of more than 80 professional evaluators, including chefs, sommeliers, and nutrition consultants, who judge products based on over 25 criteria such as taste, aroma, texture, and packaging. This year, more than 3,000 products from over 150 countries participated in the evaluation.
Lotte Mart received awards for all 10 PB products it submitted to this year's Monde Selection. "Yorihada Gondre Vegetable Pot Rice," "Oneuljoeun Gimmatna," and "Yorihada Old-Fashioned Honey Hotteok" received the highest scores among the entries and were awarded gold medals. Seven other products?"Yorihada Crispy Sweet Potato Vegetable Fritter," "Yorihada Sweet Red Bean Fish-Shaped Pastry," "Yorihada Pure Jjajangmyeon," "Yorihada Spicy Sweet Tteokbokki (Cup)," "Oneuljoeun Rose Tteokbokki Flavor Snack," "Oneuljoeun Sweet and Savory Jjang Snack," and "Oneuljoeun Korean 19-Grain Crispy Roll Mini Choco"?were awarded silver medals. In both 2024 and 2023, all 16 PB products submitted by Lotte Mart also received awards.
The products submitted this year received consistently high marks across all evaluation criteria. In particular, they were highly rated in the areas of taste, aroma, and packaging. This achievement is attributed to strengthened collaboration with chefs from the Food Innovation Center (FIC) and extensive testing to optimize the flavor of each product. The development of PB-exclusive packaging that makes each product’s key features easy to recognize was also seen as a positive factor in the evaluations.
The gold medal-winning "Oneuljoeun Gimmatna" is a bite-sized stick product that combines seaweed, snacks, and sweet seasoning, and was praised for making it easy to enjoy the taste of Korean snacks. "Yorihada Gondre Vegetable Pot Rice" received high marks for its lingering aroma of gondre vegetables and the savory flavor of traditional pot-cooked rice.
Meanwhile, to celebrate the Monde Selection awards, Lotte Mart will hold a three-week PB discount event from May 15 to June 4. All products that won at the 2023-2025 Monde Selection will be eligible for a 10x L.POINT reward promotion. In addition, "Yorihada Soup Rabokki (4-pack)" and "Yorihada Toowoomba Ramen (4-pack)" will be sold at 3,000 KRW, a discount of 1,490 KRW from the regular price, and "Oneuljoeun Peach Iced Tea Zero (1.5L)" will be offered at a 20% discount.
