Geumcheon District (District Mayor Yoo Seonghun) announced that it had conducted a safety inspection of the Sinansan Line construction site and visited the site of a ground-penetrating radar (GPR) cavity survey, in response to a recent series of construction site collapses and ground subsidence accidents.

On May 9, Yoo Seonghun, Mayor of Geumcheon District, visited the Sinansan Line construction site (Doksan Station and Siheung-dong work area) to check the progress of the construction and the status of safety management. Mayor Yoo patrolled both the upper and underground tunnel sections of the site, received reports from site officials on safety management measures and any notable issues, and personally inspected the current state of on-site safety management.

The district has been conducting a special safety inspection of the Sinansan Line construction site since April 12, aiming to alleviate residents' concerns following a recent collapse accident in a neighboring area. So far, no risk factors or unusual findings have been identified during the inspections, and the district plans to continue ongoing management to prevent accidents.

On April 30, a site visit was conducted in front of the E-Land headquarters in Gasan-dong to mark the launch of the '2025 Subsurface Cavity Survey Service within the District.' Mayor Yoo personally checked the real-time survey process using both vehicle-mounted and handheld ground-penetrating radar (GPR) equipment. He also listened to explanations about the survey overview, equipment operating principles, and data acquisition methods, and participated in a Q&A session.

The 'Subsurface Cavity Survey Service' will cover 80 kilometers of roadways and 20 kilometers of sidewalks in the Doksan 1, 3, and 4-dong areas of Geumcheon District. The plan is to conduct precise surveys of the ground around underground facilities to prevent ground subsidence accidents such as sinkholes in advance, thereby strengthening underground safety management.

Mayor Yoo Seonghun of Geumcheon District stated, "A single moment of carelessness can cause significant damage in ground subsidence and underground construction accidents," and added, "We will always put the safety of our residents first and continue proactive inspections and preemptive responses."
