General, Rental, and Subscription Types Available
Enhanced Customized Support
The Small Enterprise and Market Service (SEMAS) announced on May 12, 2025, that it is recruiting small business owners to participate in the "2025 Smart Store Technology Distribution Project" to support the digital transformation of small businesses.
The Smart Store Technology Distribution Project aims to enhance operational efficiency and customer service quality at small business stores and strengthen their competitiveness by distributing smart technologies. These include accessibility improvement (barrier-free) unmanned kiosks, delivery (serving) robots, digital signage, and software-as-a-service (SaaS) subscription programs.
The support types are classified according to the method of technology adoption: ▲General type (purchase method), ▲Rental type (lease method), ▲and SaaS type (subscription service). The maximum government subsidy for each type is up to 5 million KRW for the general type, 3.5 million KRW per year for the rental type, and 300,000 KRW per year for the SaaS type.
Small business owners can directly select and apply for the desired technology from the technology lists by type registered on the Small Business Smart Store website. Applicants are required to cover 30?50% of the technology adoption cost as their own expense, as well as 10% value-added tax.
Eligible applicants are small business owners as defined in Article 2 of the "Framework Act on Small Enterprises," and the business must be operating normally as of the application date. Selected small business owners must enroll in a payment guarantee insurance for the government subsidy amount and are required to maintain and manage the supported smart technology for the mandatory usage period.
Park Sunghyo, Chairman of SEMAS, stated, "The Smart Store Technology Distribution Project supports the digital transformation of small businesses and helps them build competitiveness in the digital era," adding, "It can reduce labor costs while improving the quality of customer service."
