On May 11 (local time), at Liberty National Golf Club (par 72, 6,690 yards) in Jersey City, New Jersey, Somi Lee shot a 1-under-par 71 in the fourth round of the LPGA Tour Mizuho Americas Open (total prize money $3 million), finishing tied for 11th at 8-under-par 280. She had shared the lead through the second round and was hoping for her first LPGA Tour victory, but ultimately missed out on a top-10 finish.
Starting the day tied for 10th, Somi Lee recorded four birdies and three bogeys. She was cruising with three birdies through the 10th hole (par 5), but over the remaining eight holes, she made three bogeys and just one more birdie. She missed the green 10 times, rarely giving herself birdie opportunities.
World No. 2 Atthaya Thitikul (Thailand) carded a 3-under-par 69 to win by a commanding four-shot margin at 17-under-par 271. It was her fifth career victory and her first in six months since the CME Group Tour Championship in November last year, earning her a winner's check of $450,000 (approximately 630 million won).
Celine Boutier (France) finished second at 13-under-par 275, while world No. 1 Nelly Korda (USA), who was aiming for her second consecutive tournament victory, tied for fifth at 11-under-par 277. Among Korean players, Jinhee Im tied for 15th at 5-under-par 283, Mi Hyang Lee tied for 21st at 3-under-par 285, and Hae Ran Ryu tied for 26th at 2-under-par 286.
