Daegu City will host the '2025 Powerful K-Trot Festival' at 7 p.m. on May 17 at the Kolon Outdoor Music Hall.
This free event will feature top Korean trot singers, including Kim Yongim, Kim Heejae, Sim Soobong, Yang Jieun, Jang Minho, Jang Yoonjung, and Hong Jiyoon, who are expected to deliver high-quality performances for the citizens.
This year's festival is expected to attract over 20,000 spectators. It also serves as a cultural welfare event by providing opportunities for multicultural families and low-income groups, who often have limited access to cultural experiences, to attend the performance.
Daegu City plans to ensure the safety and convenience of all citizens visiting the venue so that everyone can enjoy the festival without discomfort or concern.
First, management personnel will be deployed intensively in and around safety-vulnerable areas of the venue to thoroughly prevent accidents. In the event of a medical emergency, an ambulance will be stationed on site to provide immediate response and rapid transfer to nearby hospitals.
Additionally, illegal parking and stopping will be strictly monitored at major intersections and access roads near the venue to ensure smooth traffic flow. Due to limited parking spaces at the venue, attendees are strongly encouraged to use public transportation as much as possible.
Furthermore, six city bus routes passing near the venue will operate additional buses at weekday levels, and an extra temporary train will be on standby at the adjacent Duryu Station to transport citizens after the event, minimizing inconvenience for attendees.
Lee Jaeseong, Director of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of Daegu City, stated, "This festival has been prepared as more than just a performance; it aims to be a cultural event that resonates with all generations. I hope this event will provide a meaningful time for both Daegu citizens and tourists visiting our region to enjoy together."
