This project is a core initiative of the 'Dongducheon Saengyeon Urban Regeneration Project,' which was selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Urban Regeneration New Deal in 2021. It aims to revitalize the stagnant commercial district of the old downtown. Dongducheon City plans to build a complex facility with two underground floors and three above-ground floors (total floor area of 5,197 square meters) at 588-3 Saengyeon-dong and its surrounding area, which is the project site.

The 'Live Broadcast Win-Win Platform' will include facilities to boost commercial activity such as a shared office for merchants, a camping box making lab, and a parking lot. It will also provide community spaces for resident welfare, including the Live Broadcast Sarangbang, a senior vitality center, and a job caf?.

Dongducheon City explained that, over the past several years, the relocation of U.S. military bases, the development of large shopping centers, and the construction of large apartment complexes have led to the contraction of local businesses and the aging of infrastructure, which has accelerated the decline of the old downtown. In response, the city intends to secure a sustainable regeneration hub for local merchants and residents through the construction of this platform.

Dongducheon City will begin full-scale construction with the goal of completion in December 2026. After completion, the city expects a variety of urban regeneration effects, including revitalization of the traditional market, increased resident interaction, and improved welfare for the elderly.

An official from Dongducheon City stated, "The Live Broadcast Win-Win Platform will serve not just as a building, but as a focal point for regional regeneration," adding, "We will make every effort to ensure the project delivers tangible results that residents can experience."

Kim Tae-su, head of the Urban Regeneration Division at Gyeonggi Province, said, "Through urban regeneration projects, we are securing region-specific anchor facilities to overcome the decline of old downtown areas," and added, "We will closely cooperate with cities and counties to reflect the diverse needs of each region and achieve sustainable urban regeneration."

Meanwhile, Dongducheon City, in cooperation with Gyeonggi Province, is also pursuing resident participation programs and region-specific regeneration projects, centered around the Urban Regeneration Support Center.
