In her inaugural address, Koo Myungsook stated, "I will do my utmost to ensure that Seocho District enhances the quality of life and realizes cultural welfare through culture."

Since its establishment in 2009, the Seocho Cultural Center has aimed to make Seocho a city of culture and arts, preserving and promoting the region's unique cultural assets through a variety of programs and festivals. These include the Different Academy, Wednesday Cinema, Seocho Cultural Heritage Tour, Seocho Art Festival, Yangjaecheon Cherry Blossom Lantern Festival, and the Cultural Tourism Interpreter Training Course. The inauguration and retirement ceremony was attended by approximately 300 people, including Seocho District Mayor Jeon Seongsu, Seocho District Council Chairperson Ko Seonjae, and figures from the cultural and arts community.

Jeon Seongsu, the district mayor, said, "I deeply appreciate Director Park Kihyun's dedication to the Seocho Cultural Center over the past eight years, and I look forward to seeing Seocho's culture and arts continue to inspire and move more people, and to develop further together with the new director, Koo Myungsook."
