The Haenam-Wando-Jindo Regional Committee of the Jeonnam Provincial Committee of the Democratic Party of Korea announced on May 10 that it held the launch ceremony for the "Real Republic of Korea Democratic Party HaenamWandoJindo Election Countermeasures Committee" at the Haenam election office on May 9.
The event was attended by about 200 party officials, including Park Jiwon, Co-Chairman of the Central Election Countermeasures Committee of the Democratic Party of Korea and Chairman of the Alley-by-Alley Election Countermeasures Committee for Gwangju and Jeonnam, as well as members of the election committee and local council members.

Participants chanted slogans such as "Now is Lee Jaemyung" and "Real Republic of Korea," reaffirming their determination for a change in government. They pledged, "By achieving the highest voter turnout nationwide, Haenam, Wando, and Jindo will take the lead in changing the government and dramatically accelerating regional development," and added, "We will surely achieve a 'Real Republic of Korea' where justice prevails and the fundamentals are guaranteed."
Chairman Park stated, "During the era of military dictatorship, Haenam, Wando, and Jindo took the lead in saving DJ and making him president, which helped overcome the foreign exchange crisis." He emphasized, "The only way to achieve a 'Real Republic of Korea' is an overwhelming change in government, which will clear out the Yoon Sukyeol and Kim Keonhee family and the forces that supported the rebellion."
He also added, "In the 2022 presidential election, Wando recorded an 88.9% vote share, ranking first among all basic local governments in Korea for the Democratic Party of Korea. Haenam, Wando, and Jindo swept the gold, silver, and bronze medals among basic local governments nationwide, so let us take the lead in changing the government with the highest voter turnout in the country."
The launch ceremony began at 3:00 p.m. and concluded as an occasion to appeal for active support and participation from local voters.
