Defense Firm WithPS Signs 26.6 Billion KRW Contract with Hanwha Systems

Scheduled to Supply 'L-SAM Main Power Supply Unit'

WithPS Co., Ltd., a Jeonnam-based root company specializing in power supply systems for defense applications, announced on the 9th that it recently signed a contract worth a total of 26.6 billion KRW with Hanwha Systems to supply "main power supply units for the L-SAM (Long-range Surface-to-Air Missile) multi-function radar (MFR)."

The L-SAM is a core asset of the Korea Air and Missile Defense (KAMD) system, capable of intercepting enemy ballistic missiles in the terminal upper phase or shooting down aircraft and other threats at long range.

The main power supply unit covered by this contract has been highly regarded for being developed over approximately two years using proprietary technology for its key components, enabling the domestic development of critical parts for missile defense systems to meet the high-output, stable power supply demands of the L-SAM's multi-function radar (MFR).

This equipment boasts world-class performance in terms of power density, energy efficiency, and durability.

Designed with export potential in mind, additional sales growth is expected depending on the outcome of ongoing discussions for L-SAM exports and contracts, particularly with countries in the Middle East such as Saudi Arabia.

WithPS Co., Ltd. is a defense-specialized SME located in the Haeryong Industrial Complex in Suncheon. Since its founding in 2020, the company has secured technological capabilities through R&D funding programs supported by Jeonnam Province and the Agency for Defense Development (Jeonnam Defense Venture Center). It has successfully developed and supplied a variety of military power supply systems, including local air defense radars, counter-battery radars, and the Cheonma Power Maximization Project.

In particular, the company possesses top-tier domestic capabilities in permanent magnet-based generator technology and high-efficiency energy conversion technology.
