Expansion to Other Local Governments Planned
Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation (LX) is joining forces with Pocheon City to cooperate on more efficient management of public property.
On May 9, LX announced that it had signed a business agreement with Pocheon City to strengthen cooperation in the fields of cadastral administration and public property management. Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to systematically manage public property and jointly pursue measures such as identifying and actively utilizing unused land (idle land).
Pocheon City had already signed a contract with LX last year, becoming the first municipality in the country to entrust the management of general public property to LX. Since then, LX has been responsible for tasks such as imposing rental fees, taking action against unauthorized occupation, and conducting status surveys, thereby ensuring efficient management.

Although public property accounts for 9.3% of the nation's land and is valued at approximately 490 trillion won, many local governments are unable to manage it properly due to a lack of manpower and expertise. In response, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety designated LX as a specialized institution for public property management in 2023, and LX has been supporting local governments and offices of education by utilizing cadastral and geospatial information technologies.
Eom Myungso, President of LX, said, "With this cooperation with Pocheon City as a starting point, we will expand our services to other local governments and offices of education, contributing to enhancing the value of public property."
