Shin Changjae, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Kyobo Life Insurance, encouraged insurance planners (consultants) who contributed to customer protection last year. "When Life Gives You Tangerines" is a Jeju dialect phrase meaning "You did a great job."
Kyobo Life Insurance announced that Shin attended the "2025 Customer Protection Awards Ceremony" held on the 9th at Songdo Convensia in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon. This was his first time attending the ceremony to congratulate consultants in seven years since 2018.
Shin stated, "This year's ceremony is especially meaningful as it has the largest number of awardees (1,714) since the event began in 2005. I sincerely congratulate you on your well-deserved recognition and send a round of applause to all consultants nationwide."
He continued, "The awardees are those who spared no effort over the past year to protect the precious dreams and everyday lives of customers through the spirit of mutual aid and neighborly love in life insurance. Countless moments of contemplation, challenges, and learning have brought you to this very place today."
At the event, Shin expressed his deep affection for the life insurance industry and his conviction regarding its social role.
Shin quoted a poem written by the main character of the Netflix drama "When Life Gives You Tangerines." The poem reads, "For someone precious to return each day through the same door they left in the morning-that was a daily miracle."
He explained, "A comfortable everyday life is more precious than anything else. Life insurance, the field we are in, is a system that allows people to return to their peaceful daily lives before an accident occurs."
Shin emphasized, "The life insurance system is a 'story of neighborly love among ordinary people,' connecting those who pay premiums out of love to help others in hardship with those who receive insurance payouts when they are in need."
He added, "Currently, the domestic life insurance market is becoming increasingly chaotic due to excessive competition within the industry, making it difficult to earn sufficient trust from customers and society. As the only dedicated life insurance company in Korea, let Kyobo Life Insurance properly promote and practice the true spirit of life insurance in the market."
