Kim Youngrok, Governor of Jeollanam-do, has urged voters in the Jeollanam-do region to actively participate in the 21st presidential election. In particular, he strongly encouraged voters with mobility difficulties to report for absentee voting.
Absentee voting is a system that allows voters who cannot visit polling stations in person due to health reasons or geographical circumstances to vote by mail from their homes, hospitals, or care facilities. Shipboard voting is a special system for voters working on ships or naval vessels, where ballots are sent via fax.
The reporting period for absentee and shipboard voting is open until 6:00 p.m. on the 10th.
Voters can easily report through the government’s 'Government24' website or the website of their local city or county of residence. It is also possible to report in person at the Eup, Myeon, or Dong Administrative Welfare Centers, or by mail or fax.
Governor Kim stated, "Voting is power, and that power allows democracy to blossom," and earnestly asked, "I sincerely urge all residents to participate in voting."
He added, "If there are people around you who are eligible for absentee voting, please actively inform and encourage them," and continued, "Jeollanam-do will also provide all necessary support to ensure every resident can participate in the election."
Jeollanam-do plans to do its utmost to cooperate with the Jeollanam-do Election Commission until election day on June 3, ensuring that all voters in the province can vote without inconvenience by providing voting information and managing the setup and operation of polling stations.
