My Skin Matters... "Thorough Preparation"

Unprecedented Heatwave Expected: Skin Protection Comes First
Apply Sunscreen 30 Minutes Before the Round, Spray Types Are Popular
Bring Sunglasses, Umbrellas, and Functional Arm Sleeves

This year, an unprecedented heatwave is expected.

Thorough preparation is essential for an enjoyable round of golf. Above all, your health is the most important factor. In particular, you need to pay close attention to skin protection. Sunlight is your skin's "enemy." If you do not manage it thoroughly, you may regret it. Prepare sunscreen and keep it in your caddie bag at all times. Golf courses, like ski resorts, have a high grass reflectivity, making them among the sunniest places.

Your sunscreen should have a sun protection factor (SPF) of over 50. Otherwise, its effectiveness will be reduced. It is best to apply sunscreen 30 minutes before your round. During play, you will sweat frequently, so reapply sunscreen regularly. Apply a thick layer at first, and then reapply every three holes, considering that sweat may wash it off. The back of your neck is especially important, as you lower your head every time you putt on each hole.

Male golfers often dislike sticky sensations, so they tend to avoid applying sunscreen before heading out to the field. However, they soon regret it, as their skin becomes severely tanned. If you find it inconvenient to get sunscreen on your hands, there are powder or spray options available, which make sun protection easy. Sunscreen face sticks are also a good choice. They are non-greasy, do not leave a shiny finish, and can be used while on the move. The sunscreen face stick is the perfect size to carry in your bag and use whenever you need sun protection at the golf course.

Sunglasses are also essential. They block harmful UVA and UVB rays, preventing eye fatigue. When reading the line on the green, it helps to take off your sunglasses. An umbrella is also necessary, as it is ideal for blocking the heat. These days, many products function as both an umbrella and a parasol. Choose an umbrella that offers both features.

As the weather gets hotter, you will likely wear short sleeves, which exposes your arms to the risk of sunburn. Prolonged sun exposure can be harmful to both your skin and your overall health. You should also apply sunscreen to your arms. If you dislike this, prepare UV-protection arm sleeves. There are many functional products available that block both UV rays and heat. Use them frequently to help cool down. You can also use an ice pack, portable fan, or hand fan.

If you want to avoid tanning, consider playing a night round. After completing the first five or six holes, you can enjoy the rest of the course under the lights in a dreamy atmosphere as the sun sets. The risk of UV exposure is much lower. However, be sure to bring insect repellent spray.

Post-round care is also important. You need to take good care of skin that has suffered mild sunburn. First, cool down the affected area. Massage your skin with cucumber or similar remedies. Use a mask pack with various functional benefits.
