The tournament organizing committee announced on May 9 that the second round of the tournament, which was scheduled to be held at the Cypress Golf & Resort Northwest Course (par 71) in Seogwipo, Jeju, was canceled due to severe weather conditions. On that day, heavy rain and strong winds accompanied by lightning caused a four-hour delay to the start of play. As there was no sign of improvement in the weather, the committee decided to cancel the round. As a result, the tournament winner will be determined over 54 holes instead of 72. This is the first time in seven months that a KPGA Tour event will determine its winner over 54 holes due to adverse weather conditions, since The Charity Classic in October last year.

The second round will be held on May 10, and players who make the cut based on their 36-hole scores will compete in the final round on May 11. In the first round, which was played using a modified Stableford system, Ok Taehun took the lead by earning 16 points. Kwon Cheongwon, KPGA rules official, explained the decision to shorten the tournament, stating, "Due to the heavy rain, it will take a long time to restore the course. The safety of the players is important, and we also considered the fairness of scheduling the remaining rounds if play had continued."
