Daegu City is holding an open recruitment for restaurants to participate in the "Daegu 10mi Day" gourmet event, which will run for four months from June to September. The event aims to raise awareness of "Daegu 10mi," the city's signature food brand, and to invigorate the local dining industry.
Daegu 10mi refers to ten representative dishes of Daegu: Daegu Ttarogukbap (Daegu Yukgaejang), Makchang Gui, Mungtigi, Dongin-dong Jjimgalbi, Nonmegi Maeuntang, Bok-eo Bulgogi, Nureun Guksu, Muchimhoe, Yakki Udon, and Napjak Mandu.
"Daegu 10mi Day" will be held twelve times in total, on the 10th, 20th, and 30th of each month from June to September. During this period, customers who visit participating restaurants will receive a 5-10% discount on Daegu 10mi menu items and complimentary beverages.
In addition, visitors can participate in a QR code certification event for a chance to win prizes, which will be awarded through a drawing.
This event is open to general restaurants in the Daegu area that feature Daegu 10mi as their main menu and have been in operation for at least one year after business registration.
However, restaurants will be excluded if the event days coincide with their regular holidays, or if they have received administrative sanctions or have a record of food safety incidents in the past year. Applications will be accepted from the 7th to the 16th.
Daegu City plans to select up to 50 restaurants to participate in the event and will provide various promotional materials, including event posters and outdoor banners, to the selected establishments.
On event days, the "Taste of Daegu" promotional song will be played inside participating restaurants, making it a special day for both citizens and tourists to experience the charm of "Taste of Daegu" with all their senses.
No Kwonryul, Director of the Hygiene Policy Division at Daegu City, stated, "Daegu 10mi Day will be an opportunity to promote Daegu's unique food culture and to help achieve tangible sales growth for the restaurant industry," and added, "We hope for the active interest and participation of restaurants that love Daegu 10mi."
