"Brainwashing Citizens with False Dokdo History Through the Exhibition Hall"
Recently, as the Japanese government reopened the National Territory Sovereignty Exhibition Hall in Tokyo, which promotes Dokdo as Japanese territory, Professor Seo Kyungduk of Sungshin Women's University emphasized the need to respond firmly to Japan's provocation.

On May 9, Professor Seo stated on Facebook, "I recently visited the exhibition hall and checked the changes in the exhibition facilities." This venue, which claims Dokdo, the Senkaku Islands (called Diaoyu Dao in China), and the four southernmost Kuril Islands known as the 'Northern Territories' as Japanese territory, originally opened in 2018 and was expanded and relocated in 2020.
Professor Seo said, "The first change is that they now provide an English-language guidebook titled 'Japan's Territory and Territorial Waters' to foreigners," adding, "According to staff, since the reopening, an average of 100 people visit each day, and the number of foreign visitors has also increased."

He continued, "The second change is that, whereas the previous exhibitions mainly consisted of panel installations, the new exhibition hall is equipped with an immersive theater and animation video facilities," explaining that "the intention is to encourage field trips by elementary, middle, and high school students."
He also criticized, "The third change is the strengthened exhibition using sea lions," adding, "With taxidermied sea lions, animation scenes depicting Japanese fishermen hunting sea lions, and sea lion character designs displayed throughout, they are saturating the venue with sea lions to instill the perception that 'Japan once engaged in fishing on Dokdo.'"

He remarked, "It is truly outrageous," and criticized, "Through this exhibition hall, the Japanese government is blatantly brainwashing its citizens with false history and information about Dokdo."
He further emphasized, "We must respond firmly to Japan's provocations regarding Dokdo," and stated, "It is essential to further strengthen global promotion of Dokdo using cultural content."
