844 Billion Won Executed, Far Exceeding the Target Amount (71.2 Billion Won) with an Execution Rate of Approximately 118.5%
Self-Assessment of Departmental Implementation Plans for Remaining First and Second Half Evaluations
Dobong District in Seoul (headed by Mayor Oh Eon-seok) has been selected as an "Outstanding Institution" in the "2025 Q1 Local Fiscal Execution Evaluation" organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
As a result, the district secured a special grant of 40 million won as a fiscal incentive.
The Local Fiscal Execution Evaluation is conducted twice a year, in the first and second halves, by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. The evaluation aims to promote recovery of the local economy and revitalization of regional economies by assessing proactive fiscal spending by local governments.
For this evaluation, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety set a separate first-quarter target, taking into account factors such as the economic downturn, and comprehensively assessed performance in rapid execution, as well as consumption and investment sectors.
In the first quarter of this year, the district executed 84.4 billion won (an execution rate of approximately 118.5%), which is 13.2 billion won more than its rapid execution target of 71.2 billion won. In the consumption and investment sectors, the district executed 55.9 billion won, demonstrating a particular focus on supporting the livelihoods of residents.
A district official explained, "By proactively managing the budget in consideration of the difficulties faced by residents, we were able to significantly exceed our target amount."
The district plans to continue self-assessing key project implementation plans by department and to hold ongoing discussions on practical measures to expand fiscal execution, in order to achieve favorable results in the remaining first and second half evaluations.
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong District, stated, "Being selected as an outstanding institution is the result of the collaborative efforts of all departments," adding, "We will continue to manage our finances swiftly and efficiently to revitalize the local economy and improve the quality of life for our residents."
